Sketching for UX Professionals - Workshop
In 2020 I co-presented a workshop (with Al Fukalek) for the Cleveland chapter of UXPA. Our message was to encourage other design professionals to build a strong sketching library that is consistent and simple. Emphasizing on the importance of communicating a design pattern to non designers and how a well thought out toolkit of drawn components can achieve stakeholder trust and buy in.
Established in 2003, NEOUPA (pronounced knee-oh-puh) was the official Northeast Ohio chapter of the international Usability Professionals' Association (UPA). NEOUPA was started to educate, motivate, and promote usability throughout Northeast Ohio for individuals interested in, involved in, or responsible for websites, applications, software, or any other type of user interface where usability is a key to success.
Workshop Reference Guide
My coworker and I put together a reference guide to accompany the presentation. This library of drawn UX elements eventually became the basis of a Figma low-fi wireframe library used at Hyland.
