IntelliCorp Website Design
IntelliCorp is a national background screening organization based out of Cleveland. With their company rapidly expanding, it became apparent that a new look was needed to portray a more sleek and confident business partner.
The visual state of things on the website was certainly lacking. It had a very dated appearance that was missing a complete identity.
This is where the Hileman Group and myself came in. It was important that the site matched what their personas were expecting. Maybe, more importantly, it needed to give them something unexpected, a refreshing use of color in an otherwise bland vertical.
We needed to implement a design system that was easily digestible by the user while creating a unique look in the background screening space. This was accomplished by using dark overlays on images to envoke a sense of mystery (similiar to the process of hiring) and energetic button/icon stylings. Bold colored backgrounds separate content areas and are successful at pulling the user through the content. Of course, no design is complete without the right font, in this case, we chose Roboto as our display font, which, as… well you know, its Roboto.
Developing the design system was a collaborative effort between the client and myself. Adapting existing brand elements, along with a completely new perspective on the brand landed us in a crisp, clean, and energetic experience.
The homepage of IntelliCorp portrays the entire personality of the site in one breath. Large mysterious photographs with big animated shapes of color really set the tone for the user.
It pains me to have to say that this site is responsive (as it should be a given at this point) but somewhere out in the world there is still some company that has never heard of such a thing. Even worse, there is still some conference speaker talking about it like its a brand new concept… Tell me how you really feel :)
The design system had to be unique enough to give the site a constant identity and flow to the user, while being flexible enough to accomplish all the clients business goals. Here’s a look at a mock for a packages page. (all content here is placeholder).
Head over to the site to check out a pretty nifty animation our developers whipped up.
