Marc's Grocery Site Design
Marc's Stores is a discount drugstore-and-grocery chain, with stores in northern and central Ohio. Marc's was very much in need of a fresh online presence and came to us for just the right feel. Combining farm-to-table rustics with a clean aesthetic did just the trick.
Orginal Site Design
The original Marc’s website was very heavy and boasted a very dated look. The lack of architecture and montage of CTA’s was very confusing to the user. It was our job to move this site into the present while making it as future friendly as possible.
Mood Board Creation
After several rounds of back and forth, we found the spirit of Marc's brand in fresh colors and local flavors. Bringing the neighborhood in which they serve to the forefront.
Competitive Design Analysis
Before jumping into the design it was a good idea to get a lay of the competitive landscape. By familiarizing myself with the different competition in the space it was clear what we could keep, improve upon, and re-invent. This provided the structure for making the design work appropriately based on how users use these sites, while still being unique to the brand.
Visual Design (Desktop)
Using the wireframes as a guide, I applied the mood board's overall feel to the visual designs. Adapting its elements as needed and producing a very fresh visual that is distinctly Marc's.
A style guide was created to assist the client in updating their site in the future. A collage of elements and imagery are meant to give them a breath of the overall site to reference.
